Keeping your QOF obligations current and maintaining a program to fulfill the continuing professional development of your practice staff are aspects of a busy practice that can sometimes take a back seat or even be overlooked as day to day priorities in patient care take precedence. It is recommended that these skills are updated every 12-18 months.
Training in Basic Life Support is changing. More than ever, CPR skills are being linked with First Aid and Rescue Extrication. Early Defibrillation is quickly becoming a natural extension to basic CPR. Focusing on the performance level of key CPR and defibrillation skills and techniques with special attention to defibrillator pad placement and accuracy are essential. Training with the most current AED methodologies means optimising pad placement skills by learning this through uncomplicated scenario teachings. REDI Training offers top quality training in Basic and Intermediate Life Support (including anaphylaxis) and Paediatric BLS training. Our trainers are nurses and doctors currently working in the NHS and all are Advanced Life Support and/or Advanced Paediatric Life Support instructors. All teachings are based on the Resuscitation Council (UK) and ALSG (Advanced Life Support Group) recommendations and algorithms of December 2005. We train you and your staff at a time that causes least disruption to your working day and clients. Our trainers come to your surgery with the most current equipment and training materials. We run standard training sessions covering BASIC LIFE SUPPORT skills (BLS), dealing with an ANAPHYLAXIS emergency, EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT (oxygen, airway adjuncts and drugs), CARDIAC ARREST RHYTHMS and the USE OF THE AED. Our training can also be bespoke to fit your specific practice needs. Every member of your practice staff who attends our course will be required to demonstrate competent BLS on a manikin so you can have absolute confidence that every participant has had practical as well as theoretical training. We provide handouts and certificates for all who attend. The certificates are valid for one year, in line with the recommendations of the Resuscitation Council (UK) and GMS contract. |
